4-3-2-1: Mkhitaryan & Ramsey start: My Arsenal XI vs Swansea
Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to make his debut when Arsenal take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium tomorrow night. Here is the team I would like to see Arsene Wenger select….
Goalkeeper: Cech
Ospina started during our League Cup win over Chelsea last week but Cech should be recalled tomorrow night.
Defence: Bellerin, Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal
Nacho was outstanding against Chelsea and deserves to keep his place at left-back so Kolasinac and Maitland-Niles will have to battle for a place on the bench.
I think the back four has been more settled in recent games so I’d stick with it tomorrow with Koscielny once again alongside Mustafi while Bellerin should obviously keep his place at right-back.
Midfield: Wilshere, Ramsey, Elneny
It’s been interesting to see Wenger switch his midfield formation about recently and it’s a formation I’ve been calling for all season. Elneny isn’t the world class defensive midfielder we need but he’s done a fine job over the past two games so I’d stick with him at Swansea.
Perhaps in a home game we could go with Xhaka in the holding role but away from home Elneny probably gives us more protection in front of the defence and he can drop in to the back four when needed – as he did against Chelsea.
Ramsey is fit and raring to go so we should finally see him alongside Wilshere in the middle of the park. I’ve been dying to see them start together this season and I think their partnership has huge potential.
Wenger stuck with Xhaka and Wilshere against Chelsea but I pray he recalls Rambo tomorrow night.
Attack: Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Lacazette
The big question is whether Mkhitaryan will start. I have a feeling Wenger will stick with Iwobi and ease Miki in to action but I would certainly hand our latest signing his debut at Swansea.
Ozil was excellent once again last time out so obviously he keeps his place in attack while Lacazette will lead the line up front after another hard working night against Chelsea.
It will be interesting to see if Giroud is in the squad as he’s being strongly linked with a move away amid reports we’ve agreed terms to sign Aubameyang.
With Welbeck still sidelined with a muscle injury Wenger may opt to put Giroud on the bench if no deal has been agreed for a move away from the club.
This is the team I hope we see:
