[Player Ratings] Arsenal 0-3 Man City: Ozil & Welbeck woeful for sorry Gunners

By on March 1, 2018

Arsenal were embarrassed by Manchester City yet again as we slumped to a 3-0 defeat at the Emirates this evening.

Three wonderful first half goals did the damage this time around as City ripped Arsenal apart. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed a penalty to make it 3-1 but it was irrelevant as City eased to a comfortable win.

Here are my ratings:

Cech  6/10 | Solid save to deny Aguero in the second half but conceded three times in the opening 33 minutes. The wait goes on for his 200th clean sheet.

Bellerin  5/10 | Poor defending for the first and third goals but he wasn’t the only one.

Koscielny  6/10 | Another below-par display from Kos. Certainly not the same player he once was.

Mustafi  5/10 | Not as bad as he was last Sunday but still a poor performance again from the German. Should have done more to prevent the third goal.

Kolasinac  5/10 | Poor defending against Bernado for the opener as he should never have allowed him on to his left foot. Looked vulnerable all night.

Xhaka  5/10 | Woeful attempted tackle in the build up to the opening goal. Another ineffective display but no doubt he’ll still keep his place.

Mkhitaryan  5/10 | Another worryingly poor performance from our January signing. He looked lost at times.

Ramsey  6/10 | Our best player on the night. At least he put some effort in and tested Ederson in the first half.

Ozil  5/10 | Another poor performance from Mesut. Had no influence on the game and was sloppy in possession when he was on the ball. Hugely disappointing.

Aubameyang  5/10 | Missed from the spot with a poor penalty which would have made it 1-3. Went close with a smart snap-volley but another disappointing night.

Welbeck  4/10 | A shocker from Welbeck. All over the place at times and he could hardly put a foot right when he saw the ball. This won’t do his confidence any good.

So another inept performance from Arsenal and it seems the players are no longer playing for the manager. At any other club Wenger would be sacked but we all know he’ll make it to the summer at least….
