Arsenal star returns to London after withdrawing from international duty
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has withdrawn from the Wales squad ahead of their Nations League clash with Ireland on Tuesday after his wife gave birth to twins.
Ramsey was allowed to miss Arsenal’s Europa League win over Qarabag in Azerbaijan earlier this month in order to be with his wife Colleen – who was heavily pregnant at the time.
The 27-year-old returned for the Premier League clash at Craven Cottage on October 7th and came off the bench to play a key role in our impressive 5-1 victory over Fulham with a goal and an assist.
Rambo then played the full ninety minutes during Wales’ 4-1 friendly defeat to Spain last week but boss Ryan Giggs agreed to let the midfielder miss their clash with Ireland on Tuesday in order to be with his wife.
Giggs has now confirmed that the Ramsey’s have welcomed two new additions to the family after Colleen gave birth to twins over the weekend so big congratulations to Aaron!
Ramsey will no doubt be given a few days to be with his family but as long as he gets enough sleep over the next week, then I expect he’ll be in the squad for Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Leicester City next Monday.
Whether he starts is another question though. The Welshman was left out against Fulham but made a huge impact off the bench so it will be interesting to see how Unai Emery lines-up against the Foxes.
Giggs also confirms the reason for Aaron Ramsey's absence is the fact the midfielder's wife, Colleen, has given birth to twins:
“Good news. He’s had two new additions to the family over the weekend. Congratulations to Rambo. We’d already planned for that.”
