Arsenal get tasty draw in quarter finals of Carabao Cup
Arsenal have been drawn to play north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup.
We were made to work for our place in the last-8 as we edged past Blackpool 2-1 at the Emirates on Wednesday night. Stephan Lichtsteiner and Emile Smith Rowe put us in control with two goals either side of the break.
However, Matteo Guendouzi got himself sent off for two silly bookings in the 55th minute and Blackpool pulled one back just minutes later from a corner. Thankfully, their goalscorer got himself sent off in the 82nd minute so we eased to a 2-1 win.
We’ve now been rewarded with a tasty quarter final that will see Tottenham come to the Emirates in mid December – just over two weeks after the league game.
Spurs earned their place in the draw after beating West Ham 3-1 at the London Stadium and no doubt they’ll give us an extremely tough game but I’m confident the boys can do the business.
