Video: Arsenal 1-3 Man Utd: Costly night for Emery as Gunners crash out
Arsenal have crashed out of the FA Cup after being beaten 3-1 by Manchester United at the Emirates tonight.
It was a slow start and United opened the scoring in the 30th minute thanks to some woeful defending. Alexis Sanchez was the beneficiary [obviously] as he beat our offside trap to round Petr Cech and make it 1-0.
We were all over the place and more shocking defending allowed United to double their lead just two minutes later. Jesse Lingard this time slotted home at Cech’s near post in the 33rd minute.
We grabbed one back just before half time when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted at the back stick after being set-up by Aaron Ramsey and the toe of Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsenal dominated for the early stages of the second half but having already lost Sokratis in the first half, Laurent Koscielny was forced off in the 64th minute through injury and we lost our way after his exit.
Predictably it was United who got the final goal as they tore us apart on the counter attack with Cech only able to parry Paul Pogba’s effort straight to Anthony Martial who made it 3-1.
It was a poor defeat as our defence was undone by goals we’ve conceded a hundreds times before but the injuries to Sokratis and Koscielny mean it was a costly night for Arsenal.
Here are the goals:
