Arsenal v Brighton & Hove Albion preview, team news and betting odds

By on May 3, 2019

Arsenal need a win over Brighton at the Emirates on Saturday to keep alive our hopes of finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season.

We looked to be in pole position to finish at least fourth just a couple of weeks ago but a stunning collapse has seen us slump to disappointing league defeats to Crystal Palace, Wolves and Leicester City.

Those results have left Arsenal sitting fifth in the table but thankfully our rivals have also struggled of late meaning we’re just two points off Chelsea so the race for Champions League qualification is still very-much alive.

Unai Emery’s men have one foot in the Europa League final after coming from behind to beat Valencia 3-1 in our semi-final first leg on Thursday night with odds at https://www.rsabet.co.za/ showing Arsenal as the 1/4 favourites to progress.

However, we’ll still be desperate to secure qualification to the Champions League via the Premier League so we need victory over a struggling Brighton side to stay on track.

Team news

Arsenal will need to assess Laurent Koscielny after he limped off against Valencia with an apparent Achilles issue and it’s unlikely the Frenchman will be risked against Brighton this weekend.

Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out for the rest of the season and won’t play for the club again due to a hamstring problem while Denis Suarez has also seen his campaign come to an end because of a groin injury.

Hector Bellerin remains out with a knee ligament injury so he’s on the sidelines along with our other long-term absentees Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck.

Betting odds

Betting on Arsenal these days isn’t easy as we’ve become so unpredictable, however, we should have no problems seeing off Brighton this weekend and even the best online casino USA has us as the heavy odds-on favourites. You can get odds of 2/5 on Arsenal to win on Saturday while Brighton are available at 8/1 and the draw at 4/1.

Brighton could be safe by the time this game kicks off if Cardiff fail to beat Crystal Palace on Saturday so they may have little left to play for. If that turns out to be the case, then expect goals in this game and I’d back Arsenal to ease to a 3-0 victory which is available at odds of 17/2.
