Arsenal offer £31m to sign Italian star, Euro giants will do deal on one condition
According to Tuttosport, Arsenal have tabled an offer worth £31.6m [€35m] to sign Moise Kean and Juventus will do a deal as long as they can have a £36m [€40m] buy-back clause included in the contract.
Unai Emery is looking to strengthen his squad over the next two weeks and a new attacker is on the agenda as we’ve lost Danny Welbeck this summer after he left the club upon the expiration of his contract.
Kean emerged as a target earlier this week when Gianluca Di Marzio claimed Arsenal had expressed an interest in signing the Italian international after it emerged that Juventus were open to selling the youngster.
The 19-year-old came through the youth ranks at Juve and was expected to establish himself as a vital player after scoring 7 goals in his 17 appearances last season – which earned him a reputation as one of the brightest talents in Italian football.
However, Di Marzio says the Old Lady are willing to sell as they look to balance the books following the big-money arrival of Matthijs de Ligt from Ajax and it appears Arsenal are hoping to pull off what would be a major coup.
Tuttosport are now reporting that Arsenal have offered £31.6m [€35m] to sign Kean and Juventus are willing to do a deal….but only if they can include a £36m [€40m] buy-back clause in the players contract.
The clause would only become active after two years but by that time Kean could be worth over £100m if he progresses as expected at Arsenal so understandably we aren’t willing to entertain such a deal.
A loan has also been floated as an idea but the report says Arsenal would prefer a permanent deal and we’re willing to increase our offer to £36m if it means the buy-back clause is removed from the deal.
Juve are reluctant to lose control of Kean’s long-term future so it’s difficult to see a deal being done and we risk missing out on the forward as Tuttosport says Borussia Dortmund and Everton are also showing a keen interest.
We’ll have to wait and see how things progress but I think it would be a great piece of business if we could sign Kean for anything around £35m as the Italian international has a huge future ahead of him.
Will it be at Arsenal? Let’s wait and see….
