[Image] Arsenal’s best line-up to face Wolves: Ozil & Bellerin start, no Xhaka
Arsenal need to get back to winning ways when we take on Wolves at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon. This is the line-up I’d like Unai Emery to select…
Goalkeeper: Leno
Martinez let in five goals against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup draw so it’s safe to say he didn’t take his chance to dislodge Leno any time soon.
Defence: Bellerin, Sokratis, Luiz, Tierney
The defence was all over the place at times against Liverpool. Mustafi scored an own goal and Holding wasn’t his usual self so I think Sokratis and Luiz should be recalled in the middle of the back four this weekend.
Tierney should obviously come in for Kolasinac at left-back but I’d like to see Bellerin keeping his place on the right. Emery will probably recall Chambers but Bellerin is a far superior right-back so it’s time he started in the Premier League again.
Midfield: Torreira, Guendouzi
Emery has a big decision to make over Xhaka following his bust-up with the Arsenal fans last week. He has issued a response this evening but it’s not a proper apology. More an explanation for his actions, which basically blamed internet trolls for winging him up in recent weeks. I don’t think that will wash for a lot of Arsenal fans so I don’t see any way he can start against Wolves.
The silver-lining to last week’s meltdown is we could finally see Arsenal field our best midfield with Torreira starting in the holding role and Guendouzi alongside him. This partnership has huge potential so let’s pray Emery gives it a chance on Saturday.
Willock was having a poor game against Liverpool until he scored his stunner but he’s likely to drop to the bench against Wolves where he could be joined by Ceballos as I don’t see a way to fit him into my line-up.
Attack: Ozil, Pepe, Aubameyang, Lacazette
Ozil proved against Liverpool why Emery made a huge error in freezing him out of the squad as his creative flair made the whole attack tick again and it’s no coincidence we managed to score five at Anfield with him in the team. Mesut has plenty of flaws but he’s just too good for Arsenal to leave out so he simply has to retain his place this weekend. Emery has no excuses for leaving him out again.
Aubameyang will be recalled after being rested against Liverpool while Lacazette should also come back into the side. I do like to see Auba through the middle as he’s not as effective out wide but Laca is also a key player who we just can’t leave out.
Martinelli scored another brace against Liverpool and it’s becoming harder and harder to overlook him as a first team regular. However, Pepe was just starting to hit form himself before the League Cup so I hope we see him recalled on the right wing.
An attack of Auba, Laca and Pepe with Ozil playing in the No.10 role and Guendouzi sitting alongside Torreira in midfield is the dream. Let’s pray Emery has the balls to select that line-up on Saturday.
Arsenal will have plenty of options on the bench with the likes of Martinelli, Saka and Ceballos while Maitland-Niles is also proving to be a useful squad player after a solid showing at Liverpool.
This is the starting eleven I hope we’ll see from Arsenal:
