FA Cup final – Arsenal vs Chelsea: Preview, team news and betting odds
Arsenal will look to end a disastrous campaign with a trophy when we take on Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening.
The 2019/20 season has been a nightmare for Arsenal and we risk missing out on European football for the first time since 1995 after finishing eighth in the Premier League table.
However, as has been the case several times over the past decade, the FA Cup could be our salvation and we could yet end the season with a major trophy and European football to look forward to next year.
Beating Chelsea on Saturday will secure Arsenal’s fourth FA Cup in the last seven years and book our place in the group stages of the Europa League so this is a huge game for many reasons.
We’ll be up against a Chelsea side who finished fourth in the league and comfortably beat Manchester United in the semi-finals so they’ll be the bookies favourites heading into the game.
However, the Arsenal players will take huge confidence from the fact we beat Manchester City 2-0 in our semi while we also beat Liverpool in the league recently so we know we can beat any team on our day.
Mustafi out
Unfortunately, Arsenal have received a blow ahead of the game after Shkodran Mustafi was ruled out until October with a hamstring injury that he sustained in the semi-final.
It leaves Arteta short of options at centre-back as Pablo Mari and Calum Chambers remain on the sidelines with long-term injuries so Rob Holding is set to start on Saturday.
Gabriel Martinelli is also still unavailable as he’s recovering from knee surgery but Hector Bellerin is set to return after missing the win over Watford at the weekend with a minor knock.
Chelsea could be without a key player as N’Golo Kante remains a doubt with a hamstring injury while Billy Gilmour is out with a knee injury.
Betting odds
Chelsea are favourites to win on Saturday with casinous casino online offering best odds of 6/10 for them to lift the trophy. Obviously we’re backing Arsenal and they’re priced at 11/8 to lift the cup at Wembley.
If you think Arsenal will do it inside the ninety minutes then you can get odds of 12/5 while it’s 5/2 for the game to end in a draw and be sent into extra time. Chelsea are 23/20 to beat us in normal time.
Finals are usually cagey, low scoring games, particularly when two of the big-boys face off against each other, but I think we’ll see goals on Saturday as both defences have been poor this season.
Over 2.5 match goals looks a banker at odds of 20/23 and Arsenal to win 2-1 looks tempting at 10/1. Remember if you are having a bet on the game, many of the best payout online casinos are offering excellent promotions and welcome bonuses so make sure you take advantage.
Prediction
Most pundits are backing Chelsea but I think it suits Arsenal being the underdogs. We rose to the occasion against Man City and Chelsea are a million miles away from Pep Guardiola’s side so we have nothing to fear.
We have the chance to win the FA Cup for a record 14th time and with so much at stake, I think Arsenal will be right up for this game. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to sign a new deal if we qualify for Europe so I’m backing him to fire us to the cup with a narrow 2-1 win.
