[Photos] First pics of Thomas Partey training with Arsenal team mates at London Colney
We’ve finally got photos of Thomas Partey taking part in training with his Arsenal team mates for the first time since arriving from Atletico Madrid last week.
Partey was identified by Mikel Arteta as our number one transfer target during the summer window and we finally landed him after triggering his £45m release clause on deadline day.
The 27-year-old headed straight off on international duty with Ghana and didn’t arrive in north London until earlier this week where he undertook some light individual sessions at the training centre.
However, Partey trained with his new Arsenal team mates for the first time on Thursday and was present at London Colney once again today as we finalised our preparations ahead of Saturday’s trip to Manchester City.
The club have now released images from today’s training session and Partey looked right at home as he trained alongside the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe, Dani Ceballos and Gabriel.
Arteta has said the midfielder is fit and ready to play so we could see Partey making his debut against City tomorrow evening – although I’m not convinced the boss will throw him straight into the starting eleven for such a difficult game.
Either way, let’s hope we see Partey get some minutes under his belt this weekend as fans are desperate to see him in action. The midfielder is going to be a huge player for Arsenal so fingers crossed he makes a positive start to life in north London.
