[Photos] Arsenal handed boost as trio train ahead of Wolves but no sign of key man
Arsenal have been handed a triple boost as Bukayo Saka, Willian and Mohamed Elneny have trained ahead of our Premier League clash with Wolves but Thomas Partey remains out.
Saka missed Arsenal’s Europa League victory over Molde on Thursday night after picking up a knee problem at Leeds United last weekend. However, the young attacker has made a swift recovery and should be in contention to face Wolves after training on Saturday afternoon.
Willian also sat out the trip to Norway in midweek after suffering a calf issue at Elland Road last Sunday but the Brazilian international should be back in the squad tomorrow after training at London Colney today.
Elneny has missed Arsenal’s last few games after being forced to self-isolate having tested positive for Covid during the international break but the midfielder could return to action against Wolves after being given the green light to resume training.
The trio’s availability will be a big boost to Mikel Arteta as the boss looks to get our Premier League campaign back on track with a much-needed win over Wolves having picked up just one point from our last two games.
In a further boost, it looks like David Luiz will also be available for selection tomorrow as he trained today despite being forced off at half-time during the 3-0 win over Molde on Thursday night.
However, it’s not all positive news as there was no sign of Thomas Partey at training today so he’s set to miss out once again tomorrow evening as he continues to recover from a niggling thigh injury.
Gabriel Martinelli continued to work on his fitness in North London as he steps-up his rehab from knee surgery but he’s still a few weeks away from being in contention. Pablo Mari is also short of full fitness and Nicolas Pepe is suspended after being sent off against Leeds.
