Confirmed line-ups: Newcastle vs Arsenal – White starts
Arsenal can reclaim fourth place in the Premier League table with victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park tonight.
We’ve been handed a major boost as Ben White has been passed fit to return to the starting eleven after recovering from a thigh injury. Gabriel has also been declared fit to start tonight despite limping off during the defeat to Tottenham with an apparent hamstring injury.
Takehiro Tomiyasu moves to right-back as Nuno Tavares has been recalled to start at left-back. Cedric Soares is the man to make way while Rob Holding is suspended after being shown a red at Spurs.
Mohamed Elneny also keeps his place alongside Granit Xhaka in the Arsenal midfield this evening. Martin Odegaard starts in the attacking midfield role while Bukayo Saka continues on the right flank tonight. We’ll need these two in top form if we’re to get the win we desperately need.
Eddie Nketiah also keeps his place up front having scored four goals in his last 5 starts for the Gunners. Alexandre Lacazette therefore has to make do with a place on the bench once again.
Gabriel Martinelli drops to the bench this evening as Emile Smith Rowe is recalled to start in the Arsenal attack. Nicolas Pepe is also named on the bench along with Albert Sambi Lokonga.
These are the line-ups for the game:
