Zinchenko and Tielemans could secure top 4 spot for Arsenal
Arsenal are making waves in the transfer market this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to build a squad capable of climbing back into the top four.
Last season ended in disappointment as we missed out on Champions League qualification by just two points. With just three games remaining, Arsenal were in pole position to claim fourth but lost two of our final matches to gift Tottenham that all-important top four finish.
It was certainly an opportunity missed for Arsenal but Arteta is building a young squad that can grow together over the coming years. Obviously the first aim is to get back in the Champions League but the ultimate goal is to be challenging for major trophies again.
That’s highly unlikely to happen next season as Arsenal aren’t in a position to compete with the likes of Manchester City or Liverpool for the title yet. Betting sites such as http://no-deposit-bonus-casino.org/ price Arsenal at 50/1 to win the Premier League this coming campaign so it’s not a realistic target. However, a top four finish should be achievable for Arteta’s men.
The signing of Gabriel Jesus will make a huge difference and Arsenal would probably have finished fourth last season if we had the Brazilian leading the line. Arteta is also about to strengthen at left-back with the signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City.
The Ukrainian international will be a superb addition to the squad as he’ll provide top class competition for Kieran Tierney at left-back. Tierney missed much of last season through injury and Nuno Tavares struggled to fill-in. If we had Zinchenko last year, there is no doubt Arsenal would have picked up more points.
The 25-year-old is also able to play in midfield and would be an upgrade on Granit Xhaka, so Zinchenko should prove to be an excellent addition to Arteta’s squad once the deal gets over the line.
Arsenal are also in the market for another midfielder and Youri Tielemans is reportedly Arteta’s main target. The Leicester City star is available for around £30m as he has just one year remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium.
The Belgian international is desperate to make the move to Arsenal and a deal is expected to take place later in the window once Arteta can offload some unwanted players. Tielemans would be another superb signing for the Gunners as he has vast Premier League experience and would give Arteta another top quality option in the middle of the park.
If Arsenal can add Zinchenko and Tielemans before the start of the season then they would have a well balanced squad that would be more than capable of clinching a top four finish [at least] this coming campaign. Arsenal are currently priced at 7/4 to finish in the top four but those odds will look extremely generous if they manage to get deals for Zinchenko and Tielemans over the line.
