Arsenal plotting a late move for Ukrainian starlet Mychajlo Mudryk
Arsenal are reportedly plotting a late move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mychajlo Mudryk as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners are seemingly keen on adding more depth in their flanks within the final few days of the transfer window and a host of players have already been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, while the 21-year-old is the latest addition to that list.
Writing on Twitter, Fabrizio Romano has stated that Arsenal have already contacted the player’s representatives a couple of days ago in order to understand the forward’s availability, however, Arteta’s side haven’t opened talks with Shakhtar Donetsk yet regarding a potential transfer.
The journalist also claims that the Gunners are set to face stern competition for the highly-rated forward’s signature as other clubs are also eyeing a move for the Ukraine international.
Romano said:
“Keep an eye on top talent Mychajlo Mudryk. Arsenal have explored conditions of Mudryk deal few days ago — but just on player side. Many clubs want him, one to watch until the end.”
Mudryk to Arsenal
Arsenal are seemingly looking to sign a new wide attacker before the transfer window slams shut and Mudryk could be a very good addition to Arteta’s squad.
The 21-year-old predominantly plays in the left-wing position but can play on either flank. He is quick, can dribble past the opposition in tight areas and also has an eye for scoring goals. However, the Ukrainian is still very young and needs time to develop if he were to join the club.
Romano has stated in his tweet that Shakhtar has already rejected Everton’s €30m (£25m) bid for the highly-rated forward. So, the winger won’t be a cheap option for Arsenal, given he still has four and a half years remaining in his current contract with the Ukrainian giants.
So, it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal will make a move to sign Mudryk within the final few days of the transfer window. The Gunners need more depth in their flanks and they must not end their transfer business without adding a new winger to their squad, given they don’t have many backups to their first-choice options Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.
