Zinchenko amazed by Gabriel Martinelli the most since joining Arsenal
Arsenal’s summer signing Oleksandr Zinchenko has expressed that he has been impressed by Gabriel Martinelli the most since joining the club.
The Gunners have enjoyed a brilliant start to their Premier League campaign this term as they have won all of their first five games. The north London club are currently sitting at the top of the league, two points ahead of defending champions Manchester City.
Martinelli has been instrumental in Arsenal’s bright start to this season, scoring three goals in five league appearances.
Meanwhile, Zinchenko has revealed that although he already knew about the qualities of his new teammates, the Brazilian has surprised him the most.
Stating Martinelli as ‘the special one’ the Ukrainian further said that he was amazed by the 21-year-old’s footwork, attitude and eagerness to work hard in his first training session for Arsenal. The fullback also stated that the forward could become an excellent player in future if he continues to perform like this.
Zinchenko full of praise for Martinelli
Zinchenko said:
“Honestly I wasn’t surprised much because I knew the quality of the players here but obviously if you want me to choose one, because obviously I know Gabriel Jesus for a while and we don’t count him, I think Gabriel Martinelli.
“He is the special one. From the first days when I’ve seen his footwork and his attitude and the way he works. Honestly, this guy if he is going to keep going, remember his name. He’s unbelievable.”
Gabriel Martinelli has developed quickly and established himself as a key member of Arteta’s first eleven. The front three of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Martinelli have already become a formidable forward line and the fans will be hoping that this young squad will be able to bring the glory days back to the club.
Meanwhile, after Arsenal failed to add more firepower to their flanks in this summer transfer window, Arteta now only has the ex-Ituano man and Saka at his disposal as the wingers. So, the Emirates faithful will be hoping that both of them will be able to stay fit throughout this season and perform consistently to help the Gunners finish in the top four this campaign.
