Mykhaylo Mudryk speaks out about a possible January move to Arsenal
Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has spoken out about his stance on a potential move to Arsenal in January.
The Gunners are seemingly eyeing a move for a new winger in the upcoming winter window, and the Ukraine international is widely reported to be their priority target to bolster the flanks.
Fabrizio Romano previously reported that Arsenal have held positive talks with the 21-year-old’s camp regarding a possible move but, haven’t opened any formal negotiations with Shakhtar. The journalist also claimed that the Ukrainian giants are expected to ask for a fee of more than £57m to sell their star man this winter.
Meanwhile, during an interview with Oleksandr Zinchenko’s wife Vlada Sedan, who is a TV Host, Mudryk has said that he follows Arsenal closely and regularly keeps an eye on the Gunners’ games.
The winger further states that he would be prefer to join Arsenal over a club like Real Madrid as long as Mikel Arteta can assure him of regular first-team opportunities. The forward also says that he would be ‘upset’ if he doesn’t secure a move away from Shakhtar this January.
Mykhaylo Mudryk to Arsenal
Mudryk said:
“Yeah. I check on them [Arsenal] on MyScore and know when they’re playing I can check on them. I also watch them too. They are a very dynamic side, in general not just in controlling possession but also in scoring goals.
“From a purely hypothetical perspective, if there was the option of being a bench player for Real Madrid or a starter for Arsenal, I’d probably choose Arsenal. But it’s a tough question and involves a lot of factors in my answer.
“I would first want to know from the head coach that even if I wasn’t a guaranteed starter, that I’d receive a chance. Essentially I need to hear directly from the manager what he envisages my role in his side to be.”
Mudryk on his future club: “It’s not about the badge or the history. The team’s style of play will play a role in my decision, it’s very important”. 👀🇺🇦 #transfers

Mudryk would certainly be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal, given the winger has already showcased his talent in the Champions League this term, playing against Celtic, Real Madrid and RB Leipzig.
A recent report stated that Arsenal are open to matching the Ukrainian giants’ asking price for Mudryk as Arteta’s side accept the fact that they need to spend big, in this current transfer market, to sign talented youngsters with high potential.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal can manage to get this deal over the line this winter and add more firepower to their squad in order to maintain a title charge this season.
