Arsenal eyeing move for Ajax ace Mohammed Kudus
Arsenal are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Ajax and Ghana star Mohammed Kudus, as per the 90min.
The 22-year-old joined the Eredivisie giants back in 2020 from Danish club FC Nordsjælland for a fee of around £7m. Despite not being the first choice for Alfred Schreuder’s side, the youngster has enjoyed a brilliant start to this campaign, scoring 10 goals and notching up two assists in 21 appearances in all competitions so far this term.
The Ghanaian has continued his great form with his national team in the ongoing Qatar World Cup, scoring twice and registering a solitary assist in the first two group encounters against Portugal and the Korea Republic.
According to the report by 90min, after displaying great performances with Ghana in Qatar, the forward has attracted attention from clubs around Europe, with Arsenal being one of those teams who have made enquiries about the player’s availability over a possible transfer.
The report further claims that Ajax would want to keep hold of their star man. But if they receive a significant offer then they could cash in on the Ghana international and de Godenzonen might accept a fee of around £30m.
Mohammed Kudus to Arsenal
The report also states that Arsenal are set to face tough competition to sign Kudus. As Premier League rivals Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United as well as other European teams like Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Napoli, and Atlético Madrid are all keen on signing the 22-year-old.
Mohammed Kudus would be a great acquisition for Arsenal. The African can play anywhere across the attacking midfield positions. He is quick, strong, can produce excellent deliveries from wide areas, and also has an eye for scoring goals.
So, his versatility would be a great asset for Arsenal if the club’s hierarchy can manage to secure this deal in the upcoming transfer window.
After displaying promising performances in the Champions League this term, he has also enjoyed a brilliant World Cup so far. So, this suggests the versatile forward has the ability to showcase his best at the biggest stage of world football.
It will be fascinating to see whether Arsenal will make a move for Kudus in January or next summer. The African would certainly be a great addition and would strengthen the squad if he were to join the club.
