Arsenal keeping tabs on Valencia star Yunus Musah
Arsenal are reportedly keeping a close eye on the development of Valencia and USA midfielder Yunus Musah, as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 20-year-old spent seven years at the Gunners’ Hale End academy before joining the La Liga club’s B team back in 2019. After his move to Valencia B, the youngster was promoted to the senior squad the following year. He made his first-team debut at the age of just 17 and since then, the midfielder has established himself as a key member of Valencia’s squad. He has already made 82 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.
Meanwhile, the youngster has also cemented his place in the United States national team squad. He started in every game for Gregg Berhalter’s side at the Qatar World before they got eliminated in the knockout stages after losing 3-1 the Netherlands.
Writing on CBS Sports, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Arsenal are showing interest in resigning Yunus Musah and they have already sent scouts to monitor the player’s development.
Yunus Musah to Arsenal
Romano further states that Arsenal are expected to face tough competition to sign the Valencia star this January. As other Premier League rivals as well as Serie A giants Inter Milan are also contemplating a move for him.
The journalist also says that the price tag for Musah could be high in January as Gennaro Gattuso’s side aren’t ready to let their star man leave in mid-season. However, the 20-year-old could leave Mestalla next year.
Musah – who is valued at around £17m by Transfermarkt – still has almost three and a half years left in his current contract. So, Valencia are in a strong position to ask for a big transfer fee to let their star man leave.
The Valencia man would be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal. He is quick, strong, works extremely hard without possession, can make dynamic forward runs from the deep and is comfortable on the ball. The midfielder can play anywhere across the middle of the park.
Therefore, Yunus Musah possesses an abundance of talent and he would be a great signing for Arteta’s side. With the north London club seemingly eyeing to bolster their squad this January, the USA international would be an excellent option to strengthen the midfield.
