Romano: Arsenal submit new £84m bid to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk
Arsenal have reportedly submitted a new £84m bid to sign Shakhtar Donetsk forward Mykhaylo Mudryk in January, as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Following Gabriel Jessus’ injury, the Gunners have seemingly accelerated their efforts to sign a new attacker this month with Mudryk emerging as a priority target for Mikel Arteta.
The north London club opened talks with Shakhtar to purchase the highly talented forward just before the opening of the winter window. The Emirates outfit submitted two official proposals in recent weeks and on both occasions, the Ukrainian giants rejected the offers.
Previously Romano reported that Arsenal remained in contact with the Ukrainian side to find an agreement to get this deal done and Mudryk is ‘really pushing’ to move to the Emirates Stadium.
Mudryk to Arsenal
Now, writing on Twitter, Romano has claimed that Arsenal have submitted a new bid worth around £84m to sign the Ukraine international. The structure of the new bid is €70m (£62m) in guaranteed fees plus bonuses of around €25m (£22m). Both parties remain in contact and they are currently in discussion about the add-ons structure.
Romano said:
“Arsenal new bid for Mykhaylo Mudryk has €70m guaranteed fee, understand bonuses are close to €20/25m. Arsenal are now discussing on add-ons structure and how/when to activate them.”
Mudryk has been vocal about his desire to join Arsenal and the talented forward once again made his wishes clear on social media last night. Just after the news came out that Arsenal have submitted a new bid, Mudryk posted a praying emoji on his Instagram story, as if he is begging his club to accept the offer and let him join the Gunners.
We’ll now have to wait and see if Shakhtar and Arsenal can finally get this deal done. After signing Mudryk it remains to be seen how much money Arteta will be left with to strengthen other areas. Midfield has been mentioned as one of the positions where the Spanish boss wants to bolster this month. So, Arsenal will be hoping to get the Mudryk deal done as quickly as possible before focusing on strengthening other positions of the squad.
