Arsenal to submit official bid to sign Rasmus Hojlund
Arsenal are reportedly preparing to submit an official bid to sign Atalanta youngster Rasmus Winther Hojlund in the summer, as per the Italian outlet La Repubblica.
The 20-year-old joined the Serie A side last summer from Austrian club SK Sturm Graz for a fee of around £15m. The youngster has been enjoying a promising debut campaign at the Gewiss Stadium this term, scoring seven goals and notching up a solitary assist in 21 appearances in all competitions.
After displaying impressive performances with La Dea so far this term, the Dane has started to attract the attention of European giants and the Gunners are among the clubs who have registered their interest.
According to the report by La Repubblica, Arsenal are plotting a swoop for Hojlund and are ready to submit a huge proposal to sign the forward at the end of this season. But, purchasing the highly talented striker won’t be easy for Mikel Arteta’s side as Real Madrid are also eyeing a move for him.
Hojlund to Arsenal
Having signed the player last summer, Atalanta are in no rush to sell him next summer. But, It has been reported that if they are forced to cash in on him over the coming months then they want a fee of around £44m to let their star man leave.
Arsenal are seemingly looking to strengthen their attacking department next summer and have been linked with several strikers in recent times with Hojlund now emerging as a new serious target.
The Dane is a talented forward and possesses high potential. The 20-year-old, standing at 6 ft 3in, has blistering pace, is extremely strong, works very hard without possession, has an eye for scoring goals and is also efficient in hold-up play.
I believe if he can stay fit and continues to improve then he is definitely destined to become a world-class forward in the near future. So, he would be a great acquisition for Arsenal and would certainly strengthen the Gunners’ frontline if he were to join the club.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal will formalise their interest in signing him following the conclusion of this season.
