Arsenal predicted line-up against Leeds United
Arsenal will return to action in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon when they take on Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners entered the international break with five consecutive league victories so they will be coming into this game full of confidence. Mikel Arteta’s side are currently eight points ahead of title rivals Manchester City, having played an extra game.
So, the north London club will be desperate to come away with all three points from this fixture in order to maintain the gap up top.
On the other hand, Leeds are currently in danger of relegation as they are only two points ahead of the bottom three. They will be hoping to come away with a positive result from this encounter to stay away from the drop zone. So, Mikel Arteta’s side will have to be at their best to win tomorrow.
Expected Arsenal line-up
Aaron Ramsdale is likely to start in the Gunners’ goal and Matt Turner will have to settle for a place on the bench.
William Saliba is set to miss out due to a hamstring issue that he picked up in the Europa League defeat versus Sporting CP. So, Rob Holding is likely to continue in Arsenal’s defence alongside Gabriel Magalhaes, meaning Jakub Kiwior will be on the bench.
Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko are expected to be the two full-backs for Arsenal. Takehiro Tomiyasu has been ruled out for the rest of this season after picking up a serious knee problem so he won’t be available for selection, while Kieran Tierney is in doubt tomorrow having sustained a knock while away with Scotland.
Thomas Partey returned from international duty with fresh injury issue. He took part in training today but Arsenal may not want to risk him from the start with so many huge games coming up. Arteta may look to deploy Jorginho at the heart of midfield tomorrow and give the Ghanaian proper time to recover before next week’s crucial Liverpool trip.
Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard are expected to be in the more advanced midfield roles. Meaning Fabio Vieira and Emile Smith Rowe will find themselves on the bench.
Gabriel Jesus should return to the starting eleven as the £45m star has built-up his fitness during the last two weeks. Either side of the Brazilian, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli could be on the flanks for Arsenal. So, Leandro Trossard and Reiss Nelson could start on the bench this weekend. Eddie Nketiah is likely to remain sidelined with an ankle issue along with Mohamed Elneny.
