Arsenal are reportedly ready to reignite their interest in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto this summer, as per Football Transfers.

The Gunners have been looking to sign a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka since last summer. However, despite being linked with numerous options, they haven’t made any firm move to solve that issue yet.

It was reported that Mikel Arteta wanted to sign Neto at the beginning of this season to reinforce the Gunners’ forward department. But, Arsenal never formalised their interest to acquire the youngster’s services so a deal didn’t materialise and in the end, the 23-year-old stayed at Molineux Stadium.

It was thought that Arsenal have cooled down their interest in the Portuguese international, but it appears the North London club remain keen on signing the forward.

According to the report by Football Transfers, Julen Lopetegui is ready to cash-in on Neto to increase his transfer budget this summer and Arsenal are looking to take advantage of this situation.

The report further claims that the Portuguese is ‘flattered’ by the Gunners’ interest so he could be open to a move to the Emirates Stadium at the end of this season.

Neto – valued at around £28m by Transfermarkt – still has more than four years left in his current contract. So, the West Milands club are in a strong position to demand a big fee to let their star man leave if Arsenal decide to formalise their interest this summer.

Neto is an extremely talented player and possesses the potential to become a world-class winger going forward. He can play anywhere across the front line, is quick, technically sound, can dribble past the opposition defenders in tight areas, has an eye for scoring goals and also has the efficiency to create chances for fellow attackers.

Due to injury problems, Neto’s development has been hindered in recent times. But, he still is very young and has plenty of time on his side to reach his full potential. So, the Wolves star would certainly strengthen Arsenal’s front line if they push forward and broker this deal during the off-season.
