Arsenal interested in Bayern Munich outcast Gravenberch
Arsenal have reportedly been showing an interest in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch this summer, as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 20-year-old joined the Bavarian club at the beginning of this season from Ajax Amsterdam in a £16m deal, though he has struggled to find regular game time at the Allianz Arena, making only four starts so far this term.
So, having failed to find his feet in the German Bundesliga, speculation surrounding the Dutchman’s future has started to emerge ahead of the summer window.
Despite the youngster’s recent struggles, it appears he has no shortage of suitors as big Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been looking to sign the midfielder during the off-season.
Writing on Caught offside, Romano has reported that Gravenberch isn’t happy with his current situation at Bayern and wants it to be changed next season. If Thomas Tuchel can’t promise him regular game-time then he would want to move away this summer.
The journalist further claims that Arsenal have expressed their interest in signing Gravenberch and they have been made aware of the Dutchman’s current situation so, they could make a summer swoop for him.
Gravenberch to Arsenal
However, Romano claims that Bayern don’t want to let their man leave so it would be difficult for Arsenal to acquire Gravenberch’s services this summer. In addition, they are set to face tough competition from Manchester United and Liverpool in getting any potential deal done for the Netherlands international.

“There is a lot of interest in Ryan Gravenberch – he is not playing for Bayern and he has confirmed he is not satisfied at all, he wants more minutes, and he says that next season it has to change.
“There will be a meeting soon between Bayern and Gravenberch, but from the club’s perspective, they want to keep him, and have no intention to negotiate for him to leave.
“There has been interest from the Premier League since January – Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal were all informed on his situation but it was not possible to proceed because of Bayern’s stance.”
Gravenberch – valued at around £26m by Transfermarkt – is an extremely talented player and possesses the necessary attributes to play in Mikel Arteta’s style of football. With Arsenal looking to bolster their engine room this summer, the 20-year-old would certainly be a shrewd acquisition if they opt to push forward and broker a deal.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal manage to secure Gravenberch’s signature should they formalise their interest at the end of this season.
