Arsenal register interest in Napoli star Kvaratskhelia
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in this transfer window, as per Football Transfers.
After moving to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in a £9m deal last summer, the 22-year-old enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in the Italian top-flight last term, scoring 12 goals and registering 10 assists in 34 Serie A appearances, helping his side in winning the Scudetto after more than three decades.
It appears after displaying eye-catching performances for Napoli in recent times, the Georgian international has attracted the attention of several big clubs around Europe with Arsenal among those to have registered their interest.
According to the report by Football Transfers, Arsenal are planning to sign Kvaratskhelia in this transfer window and they are looking to take advantage of their excellent relationship with Napoli’s new sporting director, Mauro Meluso to broker this deal.
The report further claims that the Gunners have managed to establish a strong relationship with Meluso after the Italian recommended Arsenal to sign Jakub Kiwior from Spezia before he became the Whites’ sporting director.
Kvaratskhelia to Arsenal
Football Transfers also states that Arsenal feel the possibility of Victor Osimhen staying in Italy will work in their favour to lure Kvaratskhelia to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Having joined the club last summer, the 22-year-old – valued at around £73m by Transfermarkt – still has four years left in his current contract. So, Napoli are in no rush to sell their star man in this window and Arsenal will have to offer a lucrative proposal to persuade Rudi Garcia’s side to sell.
Kvaratskhelia is an extremely talented player and has established himself as one of the best young talents in the world. So, he would be a great signing for Arsenal if they manage to secure his signature.
However, having already splashed more than £200m this summer, it is highly unlikely that they will be able to lure the Napoli star away from the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in this transfer window.
In addition, I think Arsenal don’t need to spend big to sign a new left-winger this summer as they already have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in the squad with Emile Smith Rowe can also play in that position if needed.
