Arsenal keeping tabs on Croatian star Martin Baturina
Arsenal are reportedly following the development of Dinamo Zagreb star Martin Baturina ahead of a potential move, as per the transfer journalist Ryan Taylor.
The 20-year-old made his senior debut for the Croatian giants back in 2021 before establishing himself as an integral part of their first eleven. The youngster enjoyed a stellar campaign for Igor Biscan’s side last term, scoring six goals and registering 12 assists in 34 league appearances.
So, it appears after being impressed by Baturina’s recent performances in the Croatian top-flight, Arsenal have registered their interest in the highly talented midfielder.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Taylor has reported that Arsenal are ‘keeping an eye on’ Baturina having been attracted by his displays in the recently concluded U21 European championship.
However, the journalist claims that the Gunners are currently well-resourced in their engine room so they are unlikely to make a move for the Croatian this summer.
Baturina to Arsenal
But, Taylor states that Arsenal will continue scouting the midfielder next season and will watch him closely how he plays in the Champions League against tougher oppositions if Dinamo Zagreb manage to secure their place in this competition through the qualifying rounds.
Taylor said:
“In regards to the midfield talent, again, Arsenal are stacked with midfielders at the moment, so it’s just a player that they’re keeping an eye on for the future. He caught the eye at the Under 21 Euros as well. So, he’s a player that’s going to be scouted again next season, and Dinamo Zagreb are in the Champions League qualifiers as well.
“So, there could be a chance that they qualify for the Champions League like they did last season, when they played against the likes of AC Milan and Chelsea.”
Arsenal are always in search of young talents all around the world and it appears Baturina has impressed them in recent time. The 20-year-old plays as an attacking-midfielder, he is technically sound, has an eye for long-range passing, can create chances for the attackers and also can finish off his chances.
The youngster is an extremely talented player and possesses high potential. So, he could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal to strengthen their engine room if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to formalise their interest and sign Baturina in the upcoming windows.
