Kvaratskhelia would be ‘quite exciting’ signing for Arsenal
Arsenal have recently been credited with an interest in Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and transfer journalist Paul Brown has delivered an update regarding this speculation.
After moving to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona last summer, the 21-year-old enjoyed a brilliant debut campaign for the Azzurri last term, scoring 14 goals and registering as many assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.
Napoli won the Serie A title last term after more than three decades and Kvaratskhelia played a pivotal role, along with Victor Osimhen, in their success under Luciano Spalletti’s guidance. So, it is not a surprise to see big clubs such as Arsenal have decided to register their interest in signing the Georgian to bolster their frontline.
However, Napoli are the masters of keeping vultures away from their star players by slapping huge price tags on their heads and it has been suggested that the Serie A giants won’t let their star man leave this summer unless his potential suitors such as Arsenal submit a proposal worth around £86m.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Brown has reported that Kvaratskhelia is a highly rated player, he has a very good strike and is dynamic as well so the Georgian would be an exciting signing for Arsenal if they manage to acquire his service this summer. But, it is highly unlikely that the North London club will spend the reported £86m fee for him.
Kvaratskhelia to Arsenal
The journalist further claims that should Arsenal were to make a move for the winger this summer then it would be clear that Napoli are ready to lower their valuation.
Brown said:
“It would be quite exciting on paper, yeah. This guy is very highly rated, has a pretty good strike rate, and would come in and potentially be quite dynamic. Because he’s highly rated, though, he comes with a very high price tag as well. I can’t see Arsenal going anywhere near the kind of figures that people in Italy think he’s worth.
“So if that interest is followed up, it can only be because they think that the club will accept a lot less than has publicly put out there.”
Kvaratskhelia is deemed one of the best young talents in the world at the moment so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him this summer.
However, it is highly unlikely that Arsenal can afford to lure him to the Emirates Stadium this summer having already splashed more than £200m in this window.
