Arsenal could sign Mohammed Kudus this summer
Arsenal could reportedly sign Ajax star Mohammed Kudus before the end of this transfer window, as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners have decided to strengthen their squad this summer to challenge on all fronts this campaign. They have already purchased Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and David Raya by spending over £200m.
It has previously been reported that Mikel Arteta wants to sign a new right-winger in this transfer window to support Bukayo Saka and Kudus was mentioned as the Spaniard’s primary target.
However, the North London club never formalised their interest in signing the Ghanaian. In the meantime, following Timber’s injury, Arsenal have reportedly opted to sign a new defender to replace the Dutchman. So, it was thought that they had decided to cool down their interest in Kudus.
However, speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has reported that Arsenal remain interested in the versatile midfielder and they could opt to reignite their interest in signing Kudus during the final days of the transfer window. So Ajax have decided to reject West Ham United’s recent offer for the African as they are waiting for a bidding war to happen.
Kudus to Arsenal
Romano said:
“Let’s see what happens also with Arsenal. Because Arsenal in June called for Kudus then they invested big money on Kai Havertz and all the other players they signed this summer including [Jurrien] Timber and Declan Rice.
“So that’s why with Arsenal nothing was going to continue but never say never. That’s why Ajax decided to wait and not accept West Ham’s proposals.”
Having already splashed more than £200m in this transfer window, it seems the Gunners can’t spend big on any new signings at the moment. But, Arsenal could generate funds by selling players, who are out of Arteta’s plan, though Arteta’s side will have to act quickly as the transfer marker is set to slam shut in less than 10 days’ time.
It has previously been reported that Ajax want £40m to sell Kudus this summer so it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to sign the versatile midfielder by spending the reported fee.
