Arsenal ‘pushing’ to sign Barcelona star Ansu Fati
Arsenal are reportedly ‘pushing’ to sign Barcelona star Ansu Fati in this transfer window, as per Football Transfers.
After narrowly missing out on winning the Premier League title last term, the Gunners have decided to spend big this summer to strengthen their squad in order to challenge on all fronts.
They have already managed to reinforce multiple positions by spending more than £200m. However, it has been suggested that Mikel Arteta doesn’t want to stop the spending spree just yet as he is keen on adding more firepower.
Arsenal are seemingly looking to sign a new forward to strengthen their attack as they have continuously been getting linked with Fati in this transfer window.
Having failed to showcase his best after recovering from injury issues, the 20-year-old has struggled to find regular game-time for Barcelona in recent times. So, it has been suggested that the Blaugrana are ready to cash-in on him to balance the books amid their financial difficulties.
Fati to Arsenal
It seems Arsenal are looking to sign the forward by taking advantage of this situation. According to the report by Football Transfers, the North London club are ‘pushing’ to sign the Spain international and they have already held initial talks with the player’s representatives ahead of a potential move.
The report further claims that Barcelona are asking a fee of around £50m to let their star man leave this summer so it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal spend that much money to acquire the youngster’s service.
Football Transfers also states that Fati is keen on staying in Barcelona and fighting for his place. So, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal can persuade him to join the club if they step up their interest.
Although Fati struggled to showcase his best at the Catalan giants in recent years, he is an extremely talented player and has plenty of time on his side to resurrect his career. So, he could turn out to be a shrewd signing for Arsenal if they decide to purchase him in this transfer window.
However, having already invested more than £200m this summer, it looks highly unlikely that the North London club have the financial resources to sign Fati by matching Barcelona’s asking price.
