Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the development of Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto ahead of a potential swoop in the upcoming transfer window, as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

It has continuously been suggested since last year that the Gunners are planning to sign a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka. However, despite being linked with a few players, Mikel Arteta’s side haven’t decided to make a concrete approach to sign anyone yet.

During the business end of last summer window, Arsenal were reportedly willing to sign Neto to strengthen their frontline. However, Wolves’ hefty asking price forced the Emirates club to backtrack from getting this deal over the last.

It has been suggested that Arsenal were looking to sign the Portuguese this summer and an enquiry was made by the North London club to learn about the details of signing him.

However, writing on Caught Offside, Romano has reported that although Arsenal have been monitoring the development of Neto over the last 12 months and the player is aware of the Gunners’ interest, Arteta’s side didn’t make any contact with Wolves to enquire about his availability this summer.

Neto to Arsenal

The journalist further claims that Neto was a target for Arsenal to reinforce their attack last summer and they could opt to formalise their interest in signing him in the upcoming window as they are still keeping a close eye on his development.

Romano wrote:

“Pedro Neto – Reports have claimed Arsenal enquired about Pedro Neto this summer. I know the Wolves winger was a target one year ago, but I’m not aware of recent contacts. He’s always been monitored by Arsenal and he’s aware of Arsenal interest since summer 2022, but nothing has changed so far.”

Neto is a versatile attacker as he can play anywhere across the frontline. He is quick, technically sound, can create chances for fellow attackers, has the ability to finish off his chances and also works extremely hard without possession.

The Portuguese – valued at around £24m by Transfermarkt – is a talented player and possesses high potential so he would be a great signing if Arsenal opt to sign him in the upcoming transfer window. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether they decide to formalise their interest over the coming months.
