Arsenal could reignite interest in signing Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal could reportedly opt to revive their interest in signing Serbian forward Dusan Vlahovic in January, as per the Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Gunners hold a long-term interest in the 23-year-old as they were keen on purchasing him back in January 2022. However, Vlahovic eventually decided to deny a move to the Emirates Stadium and join Juventus from Fiorentina, instead.
But, the move hasn’t panned out for the highly talented striker as he struggled to showcase his best for the Bianconeri in recent times. So, Juventus were reportedly ready to cash-in on Vlahovic in the recently concluded summer window and the player was also willing to move away to take a new challenge in his career.
However, no club formalised their interest in signing him so a move didn’t materialise and he eventually stayed at the Allianz Stadium.
Now, according to the report by TuttoMercatoWeb, Arsenal are planning to sign a new striker to support Gabriel Jesus and have identified Vlahovic as an ideal option.
Vlahovic to Arsenal
The report further claims that Arsenal could opt to make a concrete approach to sign the Serbian in January and Juventus could be open to letting him leave as they were prepared to cash-in on him had they received an offer of around £69m in the recently concluded summer window.
Vlahovic still has three years left in his current contract so Juventus are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they decide to let him leave in the upcoming transfer window.
The 23-year-old is quick, strong, good in the air, can hold-up the play, possesses the poacher’s instinct inside the box, has the efficiency of finishing off his chances and also works extremely hard without possession.
Vlahovic, standing at 6ft 3in tall, is an extremely talented player and possesses high potential so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they opt to purchase him in January.
However, having already splashed more than £200m this summer, there is doubt as to whether Arsenal have the financial resources to broker a deal for Vlahovic in the winter window. So, it is going to be interesting to see whether they eventually opt to formalise their interest in signing him to bolster their attack.
