Arsenal contemplating making a swoop for Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a swoop for Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic in the upcoming transfer window, as per the Italian outlet Il Bianconero.
Although the Gunners currently have Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz – who is a midfielder by traits but can also be deployed in the centre-forward position – in the squad, it has been suggested that Mikel Arteta is planning to sign a world-class striker to strengthen the frontline.
A few players have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent times with Ivan Toney being among them. But, Vlahovic is seemingly on their radar as well.
The North London club hold a long-term interest in the Serbian international as they were reportedly keen on securing his signature back in January 2022 after being impressed by his displays for Fiorentina.
However, the 23-year-old rejected a move to the Emirates Stadium and eventually opted to sign for Juventus. Vlahovic endured a disappointing start to his life at the Allianz Stadium but has enjoyed a promising commencement to this season, scoring four goals and registering a solitary assist in four league appearances.
Vlahovic to Arsenal
According to the report by Il Bianconero, despite failing to persuade Vlahovic to move to the Emirates Stadium last time around, Arsenal haven’t given up on their hopes of signing him.
The report further claims that Arsenal have been keeping a close eye on Vlahovic’s situation and are ready to spend big to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
However, Il Bianconero states that Real Madrid and Chelsea are also keen on signing the Serbian so Arsenal are set to face fierce competition from their rivals in getting any potential deal done for Vlahovic.
It has been suggested that Juventus don’t want to let their star man leave unless his potential suitors such as Arsenal submit an offer of around £69m. So, the North London club will have to spend big to acquire his service.
Vlahovic is an extremely talented player and possesses the necessary attributes that a top-class striker should have. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they manage to secure his signature.
However, having already got several players in the striker department, it is highly unlikely that Arsenal would make a move for Vlahovic unless they decide to sell one of their current options.
So, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to make a concrete approach to sign Vlahovic in the upcoming transfer window to beef up their frontline.
