Arsenal target Pedro Neto set to leave Wolves next year
Arsenal have received a huge boost in the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto as the winger is set to leave the Molineux Stadium next summer, as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners have been exploring the possibility of signing a new right-winger for a while, but despite being linked with numerous options they haven’t opted to make a move for anyone yet.
Mikel Arteta’s side were reportedly keen on purchasing Neto during the summer of 2022, but Wolves were determined to keep hold of their star man. So, Arsenal eventually failed to secure his signature ahead of last term.
However, speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano has reported that despite failing to sign Neto last time around, Arsenal haven’t given up on their hopes of signing him yet and have been keeping a close eye on his development ahead of a potential move.
The journalist further claims that the Portuguese is highly likely to leave Wolves next year so this is a big boost for the North London club in the race to secure his signature.
Neto to Arsenal
But, Romano states that securing Neto’s signature won’t be straightforward for the Gunners as other big clubs are also plotting a swoop for him.
Romano said:
“Keep an eye on a big name for 2024, Pedro Neto. He’s doing fantastic at Wolves, an incredible player so really performing at a super level, very good again against Manchester City.
“We let Wolves enjoy this special player because obviously he’s Wolves’ player but there is a feeling that in 2024, many important clubs will arrive for Pedro Neto because he’s a special winger, fast, can provide assists, score goals.
“What I wanted to tell you is if you remember one year ago Arsenal were tracking the player so they know Pedro Neto very well and he’s always been appreciated by people at Arsenal.
“But there are also other clubs keeping an eye on the situation. At the moment I can’t say more but I can guarantee that big clubs are considering this boom of Pedro Neto in Premier League doing special things this season.”
The 23-year-old – valued at around £24m by Transfermarkt – still has four years left in his current contract so Wolves are in a solid position to demand a big fee if they are forced to cash-in next year. So, Arsenal will have to spend big to acquire his service.
After struggling with injury problems in recent years, Neto has returned to full fitness in recent times and has been showcasing his best this season.
He is an extremely talented player and possesses high potential so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they eventually manage to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window.
