Arsenal predicted line-up against Manchester City
Arsenal will face off against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium in a crucial Premier League encounter on Sunday afternoon.
The Gunners have enjoyed a promising start to this season as they are currently unbeaten in the league, accumulating 17 points from seven games and sitting only one points behind the league leaders Man City.
So, the North London club have a glorious opportunity in their hands to place themselves at the top of the league ahead of the international break by defeating Pep Guardiola’s side this weekend.
Arsenal will be coming into this game off the back of a disappointing 2-1 loss against RC Lens in midweek. So, they will be desperate to return to winning ways this Sunday.
Expected Arsenal line-up against Man City
David Raya is expected to keep hold of his place between the sticks for the North London club so Aaron Ramsdale will have to settle for a place on the bench.
William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are likely to be the centre-back pairing for Arsenal once again this weekend, while Oleksandr Zinchenko could continue in the left-back position. So, Jakub Kiwior is set to be on the bench once again. Ben White should return to the starting eleven and in that case, Takehiro Tomiyasu will go back to the bench.
Declan Rice will continue in the deep-lying midfielder role and Thomas Partey – who joined the club in a £45m deal – could commence alongside the Englishman in the engine room after recovering from a muscular issue. So, Jorginho will have to settle for a place on the bench.
Martin Odegaard is guaranteed to be the attacking midfielder for the Gunners, therefore, Fabio Vieira, Kai Havertz and Emile Smith Rowe will be among the substitutes.
After sustaining an injury in the last game against Lens, Bukayo Saka is in a huge doubt ahead of this fixture. So, if he can’t recover in time then Leandro Trossard could commence on the right. Gabriel Martinelli is also in doubt due to a hamstring issue and it is unlikely that he will be available for selection this weekend.
Eddie Nketiah could start in the centre-forward position and Gabriel Jesus should be on the left-back flank for Arsenal so, Reiss Nelson will have to make do with a place on the bench.
