Confirmed line-ups: Chelsea vs Arsenal – Saka & Jorginho start for Gunners
Arsenal get back to Premier League action following the international break as we take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening.
David Raya keeps the gloves in goal and there is no Aaron Ramsdale in the squad after his wife gave birth recently so Karl Hien is on the bench. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ben White occupy the full-back positions for Arsenal tonight with Takehiro Tomiyasu missing out.
William Saliba has been dealing with a chronic toe injury in recent weeks and was forced out of the France squad due to the issue. But he’s passed fit to start alongside Gabriel Magalhaes in the middle of defence tonight.
Declan Rice starts in midfield along with captain Martin Odegaard. Jorginho keeps his place in the middle of the park so Thomas Partey and Kai Havertz have to settle for places on the bench.
Bukayo Saka was a doubt for this game due to a hamstring injury. He missed the win over Manchester City two weeks ago and was subsequently forced to withdraw from the England squad. However, Saka has proven his fitness and is fit to return on the right wing.
Gabriel Jesus keeps his place in attack for Arsenal and Gabriel Martinelli is recalled to start on the left flank after coming off the bench to score a late winner over Man City.
Leandro Trossard is fit to be in the squad after recovering from a knock that he picked up against City but he’s named on the bench along with Eddie Nketiah.
These are the line-ups for the game:
Chelsea
Sanchez; Gusto, Thiago Silva, Colwill, Cucurella; Enzo Fernandez, Caicedo, Gallagher; Sterling, Palmer; Mudryk.
Subs: Disasi, Badiashile, Madueke, Jackson, Ugochukwu, James, Petrovic, Maatsen, Deivid Washington.
