Arsenal receive boost to sign Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal have received a big boost in pursuit of Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic as the Bianconeri are ready to lower their valuation to let their star man leave the club.
After moving to the Allianz Stadium from Fiorentina at the beginning of last year, the striker has found it difficult to showcase his best under Massimiliano Allegri.
So, it has been suggested that the Serbian has become frustrated at Juventus and is open to leaving the Old Lady of Turin. It was previously reported that Allegri’s side are ready to sell their star man and want at least £69m.
However, according to the report by Tutto Juve (via The Sun), Juventus have now decided to lower their valuation and are open to accepting a fee of around £50m.
The Gunners hold a long-term interest in Vlahovic as they reportedly tried to sign him before his move to Juventus. However, a deal never materialised so they decided to shift focus to alternative targets and eventually purchased Gabriel Jesus.
Vlahovic to Arsenal
But, the Brazilian has struggled with injury problems after moving to the Emirates Stadium, so it has been suggested that Arsenal are now planning to make a swoop for a new striker to strengthen their frontline and are looking to reignite their interest in Vlahovic.
However, Tutto Juve states that signing the 23-year-old won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Real Madrid and Chelsea are also plotting a swoop for him. But, the report says that Arsenal are currently ahead of their rivals in the race to purchase the Juventus star.
Although things haven’t panned out for Vlahovic at Juventus, he is a highly talented player and possesses the potential to become a top-class striker in the future.
So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they sign him in January. It has been suggested that the North London club’s hierarchy are ready to hand Mikel Arteta £50m transfer kitty to sign a player in January. Therefore, the Emirates club can sign the striker within their budget if they were to make a move for him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually formalise their interest in signing Vlahovic in January to beef up their forward department.
