Arsenal star Kai Havertz label Gabriel Jesus as ‘the best’
Arsenal star Kai Havertz has labelled his teammate Gabriel Jesus as ‘the best’.
After joining the Gunners from Manchester City in a £45m deal at the beginning of last term, the Brazilian started his life at the Emirates Stadium brightly.
However, injury problems have restricted him from flourishing his career at Arsenal. In addition, the striker has struggled to showcase cutting-edge in front of the goal in recent times.
The forward has even accepted the fact that scoring goals isn’t his strongest suit. So, it has been reported that Arsenal have been exploring the possibility of signing a new striker to reinforce their frontline.
However, speaking on Football Daily, Havertz praised Jesus highly and said that it’s an honour to play alongside a player of his qualities. The German further states that Jesus has the ability to win games single-handedly and he is ‘the best’.
Havertz said:
“I think I have to say he’s the best, I knew this before as well, but now I see it in every training session. It’s an honour to play with players like this. You saw him against Sevilla, what he did on the pitch was amazing, but he’s one of these players who can turn a game around himself, and yeah, I think he’s the best.”
Havertz lauds Jesus
Although Jesus has struggled with goal-scoring issues in big games, he is a top-class player and has the versatility to play anywhere across the frontline.
He is quick, strong, good in the air, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas and also can create chances for fellow attackers. So, he certainly has the qualities to help Arsenal achieve success going forward but in order to do that he first has to keep himself fit.
I think it would be the right decision for the North London club to sign a new prolific striker in the upcoming transfer window, but not at the expense of Jesus. So, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to sign a new forward in January to help Arteta mount a title charge this season.
