PSV boss Bosz lauds ‘outstanding’ Arsenal star Kai Havertz
PSV Eindhoven boss Peter Bosz has heaped praise on Arsenal’s ‘outstanding’ star Kai Havertz.
The Dutch boss previously worked together with the German star during their time together at Bayer Leverkusen. The Arsenal star managed to flourish his career at BayArena under Bosz’s guidance before earning the big-money move to Chelsea back in 2020.
Arsenal have opted to sign him from the Blues by splashing £65m last summer. Although he struggled to showcase his best for the Gunners during the first few weeks of this term, he has now been looking promising in recent times and has been in fine goal-scoring form.
The midfielder started the game against PSV in the Champions League last night – where Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw. The Gunners already secured their place in the knockout stage of this competition as a group leader so the result didn’t make much impact on their position in the group.
Now, speaking about Havertz after the game, Bosz has said that when he saw Havertz for the first time, he realised that the 24-year-old is a top talent.
But, the Dutch boss states that there was a question mark whether Havertz would be able to flourish his career at the top level as he is a ‘modest guy’.
Coach lauds Havertz
However, Bosz says that the midfielder has showcased that he can perform at the top level as he helped Chelsea win the Champions League after scoring in the final and has secured his place in Arsenal’s starting eleven this season.
Bosz said:
“You don’t need to be a scientist in football [to see] that this was a big, big talent, absolutely. The only thing is he is really a modest guy, that can he succeed in a different country at a top club? But he did, at Chelsea he scored that really important goal in the Champions League final, now he’s a starting member at Arsenal. He’s an outstanding, outstanding player.”
Havertz has showcased glimpses of his talent for Arsenal in recent times, however, he hasn’t been able to flourish his career at the Emirates Stadium yet. So, the North Londoners will be hoping that he will be able to perform at his best and help his side achieve big prizes over the coming years.
