Arsenal could look to sign Pedro Neto next summer
Arsenal could reportedly look to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto in the summer window, as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners have been exploring the possibility of signing a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka over the last few years. However, despite being linked with a few options, they haven’t opted to make a move for anyone yet.
Arsenal previously expressed their interest in signing Neto but they didn’t formalise their interest in signing him. However, speaking on Caught Offside, Romano has reported that although the North London club didn’t make a move for him last time around, they remain keen on signing Neto as they admire the Portuguese very much.
But, the journalist claims that it looks unlikely Arsenal will be able to purchase the forward in January. However, Romano claims that Mikel Arteta’s side could look to secure his signature next summer as Neto is an ‘underrated’ player and would be a ‘perfect’ signing for the North London club.
Neto to Arsenal
However, the journalist states that purchasing Neto won’t be straightforward for Arsenal as other clubs around Europe have also been plotting a swoop for him.
Romano said:
“Arsenal are being linked again with Pedro Neto, and it’s hardly surprising after his fine form for Wolves, while it’s also clear the Gunners are not quite clicking in attack at the moment. Still, I think this is a difficult one for January, so it could be one for the summer. Neto was already on Arsenal’s radar years ago, he’s always been appreciated but there are also other clubs interested, so nothing is guaranteed.
“Personally, I think Neto is a very, very good player, underrated at some points. He’d be a perfect fit for Arsenal, in my view. Let’s see how the situation will evolve in the next few months.”
Neto enjoyed a promising start to this season before sustaining a hamstring issue, scoring a solitary goal and notching up seven assists in 10 league starts.
Neto is a highly talented player and possesses the necessary attributes to become a top-class forward in the future. So, he would be a great coup for the North London club if they purchase him. However, the forward has had several injury problems in recent years so Arsenal should be careful before making a move for him.
