Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Liverpool – Nelson & Jorginho start
Arsenal take on Liverpool in the 3rd round of the FA Cup at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.
Mikel Arteta has made some changes for the game with Aaron Ramsdale recalled to start between the sticks. We don’t have too much room to rotate in defence though with Takehiro Tomiyasu away at the Asian Cup and Oleksandr Zinchenko still not fully fit. Therefore, Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Jacub Kiwior continue in defence.
Declan Rice also keeps his place in midfield along with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard. However, Jorginho is recalled to start in the middle of the park this afternoon.
Kai Havertz moves up front as Gabriel Jesus is ruled out with a knee injury. Eddie Nketiah is named on the bench. Gabriel Martinelli is given a breather while Leandro Trossard also has to settle for a place among the Arsenal substitutes.
Bukayo Saka starts once again on the right flank while Reiss Nelson is recalled to make a rare start in attack.
Liverpool have named virtually a full-strengthen team with Alisson Becker in goal while Trent Alexander-Arnold captains the visitors today. Ibrahima Konate starts along with Joe Gomez while youngster Jarel Quansah comes in for Virgil van Dijk.
Alexis MacAllister, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott all start in midfield. Luis Diaz is joined by Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo in attack.
