Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Crystal Palace – Jesus and Zinchenko return
Arsenal return to Premier League action for the first time in 2024 as we welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates Stadium this lunchtime.
Mikel Arteta and his squad have had time to recharge their batteries in Dubai during the mini winter break following our disastrous end to last year that saw us lose to West Ham and Fulham.
The boss is hoping the players have rediscovered their form in front of goal as we desperately look to close the gap on the top three with a win over Palace this afternoon.
David Raya is recalled in goal so Aaron Ramsdale drops to the bench after starting the FA Cup defeat to Liverpool two weeks ago. Oleksandr Zinchenko is fit to return at left-back so Jacub Kiwior makes way. William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White complete the back four.
Declan Rice starts once again for Arsenal in midfield and he’s joined by skipper Martin Odegaard. Kai Havertz drops back into the No.8 role after his stint up front against Liverpool.
Bukayo Saka starts on the right flank and Arteta will be hoping for some inspiration from his Star Boy. Leandro Trossard is recalled to start on the left wing so Reiss Nelson makes way. Gabriel Martinelli has to settle for a place on the bench.
Gabriel Jesus is fit to return so he leads the line up front for Arsenal with Eddie Nketiah among the substitutes.
These are the line-ups:
Arsenal
Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Rice, Odegaard, Havertz, Trossard, Jesus, Saka.
Subs: Ramsdale, Cedric, Walters, Kiwior, Jorginho, Smith Rowe, Nelson, Martinelli, Nketiah.
Palace
Henderson; Clyne, Andersen, Guehi, Mitchell; Richards, Lerma, Hughes; Eze, Mateta, Schlupp.
Subs: Johnstone, Tomkins, Adaramola, Riedewal, Ozoh, Ahamada, Ebiowei, Franca, Edouard.
