Arsenal showing ‘clear interest’ in signing Leroy Sane
Arsenal are reportedly showing a ‘clear interest’ in signing Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane, as per the Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The Gunners have been exploring the possibility of signing a new right-winger over the last few transfer windows. However, despite being linked with numerous options, they haven’t opted to sign any yet.
Arsenal currently have Bukayo Saka as the only option to deploy on the right flank. However, he has found it difficult to showcase his best this season.
Now, according to the report by Fichajes, Arsenal have started to plan about signing a new attacker to create competition for Saka and Mikel Arteta has set his sights on signing Sane as the Spanish boss feels the Bayern Munich star would be an ideal option to reinforce the frontline.
The report further claims that Sane’s current contract is set to expire within 18 months and the forward is ‘destined’ to leave the Bavarian club as Thomas Tuchel’s side could opt to cash-in on him this year in fear of losing him for free. Therefore, this is a huge boost for Arsenal in pursuit of the German international.
Sane to Arsenal
However, Fichajes states that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been plotting a swoop for the 28-year-old so Arsenal are set to face fierce competition from their rivals in getting any potential deal done for Sane.
Sane has already enjoyed success in the Premier League during his time with Manchester City. The forward has continued to showcase his best in recent times after joining Bayern Munich, scoring eight goals and registering 10 assists in 17 Bundesliga appearances this season.
The German – valued at around £69m by Transfermarkt – is an experienced winger and is deemed one of the best in his position so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club can eventually manage to secure his signature to reinforce their frontline.
Meanwhile, following three consecutive defeats, Arsenal have returned to winning ways after beating Crystal Palace last weekend. Arteta’s side will be hoping to continue their winning run when they face off against Nottingham Forest later this month.
