Arsenal ready to spend £34m to sign Kenan Yildiz this summer
Arsenal are reportedly ready to spend a fee of around £34m to sign Juventus star Kenan Yildiz this summer, as per the Turkish outlet Aksam.
After coming through Bayern Munich’s youth system, the 18-year-old joined the Bianconeri as a free agent during the summer of 2022. Upon moving to the Allianz Stadium, the youngster made his senior debut earlier this season before establishing himself as a key member in Juventus’ first team squad.
Yildiz has showcased glimpses of his qualities in Serie A this campaign and it seems after being impressed by the Turkish international’s recent eye-catching performances, Arsenal have registered their interest in signing him.
According to the report by Aksam, the Gunners have started to think about the next season and have already started to plan their summer businesses.
The report further claims that the North London club are prioritising to sign Yildiz from Juventus and they are ready to spend a fee of around £34m to secure his signature.
However, Aksam states that Liverpool are also keen on signing the youngster and they are ready to provide stiff competition for Arsenal over this deal during the off-season.
Yildiz to Arsenal
Arsenal always search for young talents all around the world and it seems Yildiz has attracted their attention in recent times. The forward is a highly talented player and is dubbed as the next ‘Del Piero’ by Juventus fans.
The 18-year-old is a centre-forward by traits but he doesn’t play as a traditional striker. He is technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, excellent in link-up play and also can dribble past opposition defenders.
Yildiz plays more like a false nine as he likes to float around rather than stay at one position. He possesses the necessary attributes to play in Mikel Arteta’s system so he could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal to reinforce their frontline.
However, he is still a very young player and needs time to develop his career. So, he might not be the option for Arsenal to help them achieve their lofty ambitions next season if they purchase him this summer.
So, Arsenal will have to sign a seasoned striker even if they eventually sign Yildiz by defeating Liverpool in this race in the upcoming transfer window.
