Arsenal interested in signing Szymanski this summer

By on February 24, 2024

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Fenerbahce star Sebastian Szymanski in the upcoming transfer window, as per TEAMtalk.

The 24-year-old has been enjoying a promising campaign in the Turkish top-flight this term, scoring nine goals and registering eight assists in 26 appearances.

So, it appears the Polish international’s eye-catching performances for Fenerbahce haven’t gone unnoticed as he has started to attract a lot of attention from several big clubs around Europe ahead of the summer window.

According to the report by TEAMtalk, following a quiet winter window, Arsenal are set to remain busy in the summer window. The report further claims that the Gunners want to sign a new midfielder and have identified Szymanski as a serious option.

TEAMtalk also states that Arsenal have been keeping a close eye on the 24-year-old’s development in recent times before making a potential swoop for him this summer.

Szymanski to Arsenal

The report says that Fenerbahce could accept a fee of around £30m for him so the North London club could purchase the midfielder for a reasonable fee. However, TEAMtalk states that Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all keen on acquiring his service. So, Arsenal are set to face tough competition from their rivals in getting any potential deal done for him.

After selling Granit Xhaka last summer, the North London club opted to replace the Swiss by signing Declan Rice from West Ham United by spending a whopping £105m fee.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side could once again look to strengthen their engine room this summer as Thomas Partey has been struggling with fitness issues in recent times and Arteta reportedly wants to sign a new midfielder to replace the African.

A few names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium with Szymanski now emerging as a serious option. He is a versatile player as he can play multiple positions across the middle of the park.

The Polish is a talented player and could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal if they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to sign him ahead of next season.
