Arsenal to submit bid to sign Jamie Bynoe-Gittens
Arsenal are reportedly planning to submit an official proposal to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Bynoe-Gittens this summer, as per the Spanish outlet Fichajes.
It is an open secret that the Gunners want to reinforce their frontline by signing a new prolific striker ahead of next season. Additionally, it has been suggested that strengthening the engine room is also on the to-do list of Mikel Arteta in the upcoming transfer window.
However, it seems along with reinforcing the centre-forward and the midfield department, adding more firepower to the flanks is also on Arteta’s agenda this summer.
A few names have been reported as serious targets for the North London club with Nico Williams, Pedro Neto and Michael Olise being among them.
However, the Gunners will need to splash big money to lure any of those players to the Emirates Stadium. So, it appears Arsenal are planning to line up cheaper alternative options in-case they fail to purchase their primary targets.
Bynoe-Gittens to Arsenal
According to the report by Fichajes, Arsenal are interested in signing Bynoe-Gittens as Arteta feels the Englishman has the potential to become a ‘big star’ in future.
The report further claims that Dortmund don’t want to sell their star man this summer but Arsenal are preparing to submit a formal proposal worth around £26m and BVB could be tempted to accept the offer should the Gunners submit it. So, Arsenal can manage to acquire Bynoe-Gittens’ signature ahead of next season.
With the North London club set to prioritise bolstering their centre-forward position and the engine room this summer, a big chunk of their transfer budget is likely to be invested in doing that. So, Arsenal could be forced to explore cheaper alternative options to strengthen the wing position.
The 19-year-old has showcased glimpses of his qualities at Signal Iduna Park in recent times. So, he could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal with a view to the long-term future if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to acquire Bynoe-Gittens’ signature in the upcoming transfer window.
