Confirmed line-ups: Sheffield United vs Arsenal – Thomas Partey returns

Arsenal celebrations

Arsenal are under pressure to win and keep pace with the top two when we take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane tonight.

Liverpool were fortunate to beat Nottingham Forest on Saturday while Manchester United came from behind to beat Manchester United 3-1 on Sunday. Those results leave Arsenal five points adrift of the leaders so we need to cut the gap with a win this evening.

Mikel Arteta is still without Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko as they continue to fully recover from calf injuries. Therefore, Jacub Kiwior keeps his place at left-back tonight. William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White make-up Arsenal’s defence once again with David Raya between the sticks.

Declan Rice starts in midfield and he’ll be looking to continue his excellent form while Martin Odegaard captains Arsenal once again this evening. Thomas Partey is back in the squad after recovering from a thigh injury but he has to settle for a place on the bench as Arteta easing him back. Jorginho keeps his place in midfield after a MOTM display versus Newcastle last weekend.

Bukayo Saka starts on the right wing and he’s been in superb form lately so Arteta will be looking to the 22-year-old for inspiration again. Gabriel Martinelli keeps his place on the left wing with Kai Havertz up front. That means Gabriel Jesus has to settle for a place on the bench along with Leandro Trossard.
