Arsenal are reportedly ‘leading the race’ to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto this summer, as per GiveMeSport.

Having enjoyed a promising campaign this term, the Gunners are reportedly set to be busy in the upcoming transfer window to reinforce the squad and help Mikel Arteta achieve success next season.

Strengthening the centre-forward position by signing a new prolific goal-scorer is seemingly the North London club’s priority as they have been linked with several strikers ahead of the summer window. In addition, it has been reported that Arsenal want to sign a new midfielder as well to bolster the engine room.

However, it seems Arteta also wants to purchase a new winger to support Bukayo Saka this summer. Numerous names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent times with Nico Williams and Rodrygo being among them, but Neto is reportedly on their radar as well.

According to the report by GiveMeSport, Arsenal are keen on signing Neto and they are currently ‘leading the race’ to acquire his service. The report further claims that Wolves could opt to cash-in on the forward this summer and want £80m but could eventually accept a fee of around £60m.

Neto to Arsenal

GiveMeSport also states that Wolves have already started to explore the market to sign a new option as a potential replacement for Neto. So, Arsenal could manage to secure his signature in the upcoming transfer window.

Arsenal hold a long-term interest in Neto but they haven’t decided to make a concrete approach to sign him yet, however, things could be different this time around.

Neto is an extremely talented player and possesses the potential to become a top-class forward in future. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they purchase him.

However, Neto has been struggling with injury problems in recent times and as a result, he has only made 50 league appearances over the last three seasons. So, Arsenal should be careful before making a move for him this summer.

It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to purchase him this summer.
