Arsenal hope to land Joshua Zirkzee with £5m-a-year contract
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal are ready to offer Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee a £5m-a-year contract in order to win the race for his signature this summer.
The Gunners have improved in recent years and are now back in the Champions League and challenging for the Premier League title.
However, it’s widely recognised that Arsenal need a top striker in order to complete their squad. The summer transfer window will provide Mikel Arteta with the opportunity to bring in a new frontman.
In recent months, several top strikers have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium. One of these strikers is Bologna’s promising prospect, Joshua Zirkzee.
The Dutchman’s talent and commanding presence in Bologna’s attack has captivated Serie A fans. He has not yet made headlines for his goal-scoring, but many believe that sooner or later he will be hitting outrageous figures in front of goal.
Zirkzee is reportedly on Arsenal’s short-list ahead of the summer but they’ll face stiff competition for his signature with several other European clubs also showing a keen interest.
Contract offer
Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Arsenal are ready to offer Zirkzee a £5m-a-year contract to try and tempt him to North London and win the race for his signature this summer.
That deal would represent a huge increase in the youngsters current salary so it would be a tempting move for him.
However, Di Marzio claims that Juventus are also hoping to sign Zirkzee and have made ‘concrete moves’ to get a deal in place, so Arsenal face stiff competition from the Serie A giants.
Bologna reportedly want around £68m for their star man so any deal won’t come cheap. Zirkzee has scored 10 goals in 28 league appearances this season and is tipped to have a big future ahead of him.
Zirkzee is destined for greatness, and what better place for him to fulfil his full potential than the Emirates Stadium?
