Arsenal sent Alexander Isak transfer reminder
While speaking on TNT Sports via Football London, Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon has heaped praise on Arsenal target Alexander Isak, and detailed exactly why the Gunners have to sign him this summer.
It’s well documented that Arsenal need to sign a top class striker at the end of the season. The 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa was the latest reminder that Mikel Arteta is short of a clinical hitman.
Arsenal dominated the first half and should have been at least 2-0 ahead at half-time. But wasteful finishing cost the Gunners as Villa scored twice after the break to severely dent Arsenal’s title hopes.
Alexander Isak to Arsenal
Newcastle’s need to comply with FFP may mean they need to make significant sales this summer to balance their books. Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak are among the Magpies’ top stars tagged as sellable.
Arsenal are one of the teams widely reported to be interested in signing Isak. We have been scouting the striker since his La Liga days, and with his impressing in the Premier League since joining Newcastle, it looks like Arsenal are ready to finally make their move.
Isak’s team-mate Anthony Gordon has now highlighted exactly why the Swede would be the ideal addition to Arteta’s squad. Speaking after Isak scored two lovely goals during a 4-0 win over Tottenham at the weekend, Gordon said his team mate has the potential to be world class if he stays fit.
Gordon told TNT Sports via Football London:
“It’s hard to describe [how good Isak is].
“You see it out on the pitch, and you don’t need me to tell you. He’s so gifted. He can be one of the best players in the world if he stays fit. He’s so good to play with.”
“You saw the assist I got for him; I just passed him the ball, and he sat a few players down. That was all him. What a player,”
Isak’s brace took him to 17 Premier League goals in 24 games, making him one of the most clinical strikers in the division. There is no doubt he is a hugely talented player, and as Gordon says, he could be world class if he manages to stay injury-free.
The former Real Sociedad star could be the ideal addition to Arteta’s squad and I’d love to see him join Arsenal this summer. The big question is whether we are able to get a deal agreed with Newcastle.
Reports suggest he could potentially cost up to £100 million, and with Arteta also needing to invest in other areas of the squad, it could be difficult for Arsenal to spend that kind of money on Isak this summer.
