Arsenal have bid ready for the Ferdi Kadioglu swoop
According to TV100, Arsenal are ready to launch an £18m swoop to sign Turkish star Ferdi Kadioglu this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to upgrade his left-back spot.
Over the last few days, the left-back position has emerged as one that Arteta may want to strengthen during the summer transfer window. Between now and the end of the season, Oleksandr Zinchenko faces a difficult assignment: convincing Arteta and the rest of the Arsenal fan base that he is the right man for the left-back spot.
In the Gunners’ last two league games, the Ukrainian international has been poor, with his defensive vulnerabilities exposed, and it could have played a key role in Arsenal missing out on the league title.
Fabrizio Romano has already suggested that Arsenal could make a move for a new left-back this summer and several players have been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium in recent months.
Is Kadioglu the Zinchenko upgrade?
A report from TV100 has now suggested that are Arsenal have a firm interest in Fenerbahce full-back Ferdi Kadioglu. They report that Arsenal are willing to pay roughly £18 million to bring the player to North London.
Though the article does not specify whether the Turkish team is eager to sell, it does state that they are aware of the difficulty of replacing the dependable full-back.
Kadioglu has been a key player for Fenerbahce and his versatility could prove to be a useful asset for Arsenal if he ends up moving to north London. The 24-year-old is primarily a left-back, but he’s also comfortable playing on the right, so he’d give Arteta some much-needed cover in defence.
