Arsenal desperately need to get back to winning ways and keep our title hopes alive with a victory over Wolves at Molineux tonight.
It’s safe to say it’s been a disappointing couple of weeks for Arsenal. We were dumped out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich on Wednesday night following a narrow 1-0 defeat at the Allianz Arena having drawn 2-2 in the first leg.
That defeat came off the back of a frustrating 2-0 home loss to Aston Villa last weekend. Arsenal now sit two points adrift of leaders Manchester City, but with the Cityzens in FA Cup action today, Arsenal can reclaim top spot with a win at Wolves.
Mikel Arteta has made three changes to his starting line-up following the loss in Munich. David Raya starts in goal once again while Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba all keep their places in the back four. There is a change at left-back with Jacub Kiwior recalled to start meaning Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu miss out.
Declan Rice lines-up in midfield again for Arsenal and Martin Odegaard skippers the team once again. Kai Havertz appears to be playing in a deeper midfield role with Gabriel Jesus starting in attack.
Bukayo Saka keeps his place despite a poor showing against Munich. Leandro Trossard is recalled to start on the left wing which means Gabriel Martinelli makes way.
These are the teams:
Arsenal
Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior; Rice, Ødegaard, Havertz; Saka, Trossard, Jesus.
Subs: Ramsdale, Zinchenko, Jorginho, Partey, Vieira, Smith Rowe, Nelson, Martinelli, Nketiah.
Wolves
Doherty, S.Bueno, Kilman, Toti, H.Bueno, Gomes, Traore, Doyle, Chirewa, Hwang
Subs: Holman, Okoduwa, Fraser, Sarabia, Aït-Nouri, Bentley, Barnett, Lemina, Ojinnaka
